3. List the functions of the following:

Cartilage - covers the end of each bone. Provides smooth purpose which allows bones to move against each other without causing friction.

Synovium - provides fluid which keeps joints lubricated.

Ligament - muscles that hold bones in place at joints so they don't move too far in any direction.

4. What happens in the joints in the case of Rheumatoid Arthritis?

The body's immune system attacks tissues in the joints. Antibodies, defense cells, and fluids move around the joints causing them to swell leading to stiffness, loss of mobility, and pain.

5. Arthtritis patients suffer from symptoms like stiffness, and pain.

6. Severe joint damage due to cartilage and bone decay can lead to permanent disfigurement.

7. The malfunctioning immune system in Rheumatoid Arthritis can also affect organs such as eyes, lungs, and membranes around the heart.
