http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_uTp31Fgx8&feature=related
Watch until 2:15 only.

Give a brief overview of the following:

1. Coronary Artery Disease

Occurs when the coronary arteries are narrowed or blocked reducing the amount of oxygen delivered to the heart.

2. Atherosclerosis

Buildup of fatty deposits (plaque) on the inner walls of arteries - reducing the diameter of arteries.

3. Arterialsclerosis

Stiffening or hardening of the artery wall resulting from calcium deposits. Causes loss of elasticity, changing blood flow, and increasing blood pressure. Facilitates rough surfaces making them vulnerable to blockages and can cause embolisms.

4. Acute Myocardial Infarction

Occurs when a portion of the heart muscle dies from oxygen deprivation. The dead area can no longer pump. This can lead to cardiac arrest, shock, pulmonary edema, or congestive heart failure.

5. Cardiac Rupture

When the dead tissue area of the heart muscle bursts open.
