From a visual recognition in the Brain Cortex comes a transport of information. The information is sent to the Amygdala, which defines the vision as threat or danger, activating the hypothalamus.
The hypothalamus organizes the stress response sending info through the spinal cord, provoking the Adrenal Gland (Adrenal Medulla) to produce adrenaline – a hormone that increases heart rate and activates muscles .
The Hypothalamus also send messages to the Pituitary Gland that provokes the Adrenal Cortex to produce Cortisol, the protective hormone during a stress situation.
