Understanding the warning signs of Erectile Dysfunction.

At least 20 million American men have some degree of erectile dysfunction and about 1 in 10 adult male suffers from long-term erectile dysfunction worldwide.
40% of men in their 40’s report at least occasional problems getting and maintaining an erection. About 52% of men aged 40 to 70 and 70% of men in their 70’s experience the same problems.

Here is a checklist of the warning signs of Erectile Dysfunction:

1) Are you overweight?



A. Overweight men are more likely to have Erectile Dysfunction. Excess abdominal fat, cardiovascular disease, high blood lipids, and type-2 diabetes is characterized by a condition known as metabolic syndrome, which has recently been associated with erectile dysfunction.

2) Do you have any of the following conditions?

b) High cholesterol
c) Depression
d) Atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries from plaque)
e) Kidney disease

A. Common causes of Erectile Dysfunction include nerve diseases, psychological conditions, and diseases that affect blood flow. A number of prescription drugs and over-the-counter drugs for these diseases may also cause ED by affecting hormone production, nerves, and blood circulation.



3) Do you

a) Smoke
b) Drink alcohol (excessively)
c) Use recreational drugs




A. Tobacco, alcohol and recreational drugs can all damage a man's blood vessels and/or restrict blood flow to the penis, causing ED.

4) How often do you exercise?



a) Daily
b) Once or twice a week
c) A couple of times a month
d) Never at all

A. Regular exercise can reduce the risks of ED as it improves and maintains proper blood circulation, multiple organs function as well as hormone production.

5) How often do you feel stressed?



a) Most of the time
b) Sometimes
c) Rarely
A. Stress and anxiety are leading causes of temporary ED. The greater amount of stress you have, the greater risks you’re at for ED. It is important to be able to manage stress as it disrupts hormonal balance.
