Understanding your body, mind and soul.

Research shows that optimistic salespeople outsell their competition by 37%. Optimists live, on average, two years longer than pessimists. The body’s ability to fight diseases – such as cancer and AIDS – is unmistakably linked to a patient’s level of positive thinking. And businesses thrive when people can “see” tomorrow as better than today because they are making it better.

Leaders who set a positive tone, praise progress, and do not waste their efforts assigning blame when they can be assigning solutions, will find team members eager to tackle even the toughest challenges.

Tackle Pessimism with Optimism – Mind over Matters

"When you are asked if you can do a job, tell 'em, 'Certainly I can!' Then get busy and find out how to do it." - Theodore Roosevelt

"A healthy attitude is contagious but don’t wait to catch it from others. Be a carrier."
– Unknown

How does one stays optimistic in times of difficulties?

How does one switch the mind to counteract the negativity before it gets to him and eventually bringing him down?

Being optimistic is easier said than done. Undeniably, we need optimism to remain sane. Negativity can tarnish even your wildest imagination, your greatest ambitions, and your strength or will to go on, get out there and do something you want.

Optimism is the reason for your every achievement. It simply means you don’t give up.

How do you tackle them?

1) Speak with a close friend or family, or your colleague. Open your feelings to them.
2) Get to the root of the issue. Why exactly are you feeling negative? What has happened that has made you react that way? Ask yourself, be honest and open up. The more you bottled up, the more unhappy you will be, the lesser strength you will have to tackle your pessimism.
3) Write down your daily feelings in a diary; be expressive, if you find it uncomfortable to open up to someone.
4) Listen to nice soothing songs.
5) Read self help books. They help.
6) Take up a new hobby, can be totally out of your element. E.g cooking, yoga
You may not achieve to expected standard but knowing you have tried is an achievement itself.
7) Take a break from work, go on a holiday.
8) Reserve a massage appointment.

What happens when this negative energy continues to linger on?

1) Seek professional help, see a therapist.
2) Avoid drugs, alcohol and cigarettes
Pessimism may be the first hurdle to depression.
